Test Preparation for SAT and ACT Standardized College Entrance Exams - Reading and Writing

Learn with the Best is thrilled to be offering SAT / ACT preparation classes! Students can choose to participate in both math and verbal / writing or just one of the subjects based on their needs. Extra individualized instruction will be available to supplement if desired.

Critical Reading and Writing

• What are SAT and ACT tests?
• Which test is right for me?
• Does the college of my choice prefer one test over the other?
• Should I take the optional writing test for the ACT?

Class sessions will focus on the following:

• Understanding the SAT and ACT sub tests
• Viewing scored essays and learning why they obtained a certain score
• Do's and Dont's to essay writing
• Outlines for successful essay writing
• Essay writing skills - fluency, grammar, cohesiveness, transitions, conclusion, etc.
• Test taking strategies and tips
• Reading comprehension for standardized test questions
• Practicing timed essay writing (scored and returned for the next session
