Science
Purpose: To develop key concepts of scientific language, attitudes, and process skills such as: predicting, observing, measuring, recording, data collection, classifying, and drawing conclusions.
Philosophy: Our hands-on exposure to physical science, earth science, and life science will provide a well-rounded opportunity for the discovery of scientific concepts. We view science as a cross-curricular concept that incorporates the core learning areas: reading, writing, and math in a fun, applicable, and meaningful way.
Physical Science - Young children begin naturally exploring the world of science through the use of their senses. This unit will provide children with the materials and experiences to develop their scientific process skills of observing, classifying, comparing, predicting, and observing.
Earth Science - Through investigation and inquiry, children will learn how their world has changed from the time of the dinosaurs until today. Also, children will identify ways that they can become responsible caretakers of their current environment.
Life Science - Children will experience the cycles of life through both plants and animals. Our hands-on approach to life changes helps create a solid scientific foundation incorporating observation, predicting, comparing, and researching.
