Arts
Purpose:
To expose children to a balanced education of music, visual arts, and
physical movement.
Philosophy:
Through music, visual arts, and physical movement, children at Learn with
the Best will establish a body and mind connection to benefit the whole child.
Children will develop an appreciation of music through singing traditional
songs, movement, and instruments. Also, we will give our students
knowledge of the art process through hands-on art experiences. Finally, we
will provide an opportunity for children to develop gross motor skills while
promoting personal wellness and personal space through physical activity.
Goals:
- Develop beginning skills in improvising and creating music
- Develop understanding of music in relation to cultures and other
content areas
- Recognize dance as a human form of expression to be enjoyed by all
- Encourage children’s natural enthusiasm for movement
- Develop fine motor skills through drawing, painting, cutting, gluing,
and coloring
